Promo video for winemaker Laurent Miquel

Shot in late August, it was a late harvest for me with 2 languages and a lot of footage and creative choices to make but I'm glad the final edit has finally been signed off in both English and French...A Chinese subtitled version is on its way too, that should be good craic to look at !

New homepage promo video with After Effects

Start of the year is usually the time where I sit down and have a look at improving or updating my website. That gave me a great excuse to redo my intro video compiling all I have to offer, as my first project on After Effects which I recently learnt to use. I normally use Final Cut Pro but I loved the way AE allowed me to tweak my comp at anytime, change any properties of each layer in a much much faster way than in FCP. It's also a huge resource of presets, effects and all. 

Check out Video Copilot, it's a fantastic place to get started on AE. Andrew, who presents the tutorials, is so passionate and creative, it's quite contagious, I might start special effects stuff myself soon !

Here's my comp anyway, you're most welcome to give me your suggestions. I think there's a big improvement compared to the one I had, I went quite easy on the effects and tried to give it an upbeat tempo.

The 1 min business speech challenge

In december, the Dublin City Enterprise Board  gave the opportunity to entrepreneurs to have a 1 min business speech recording and showcase them at their Success 2011 Christmas Event.

I was commissioned by the brilliant Channelship to produce a video for the lucky 12 business owners.

Whether you are good at talking in public or not, this exercise is of another level : consistent and strong eye contact, a confidence both visually and in your voice, a speech to deliver like you've always known it...it was pretty challenging for the people that were in front of the camera but Fred and I were there to get everyone relaxed and help them find their focus.

A good promotional video talks millions compared to a text or a few pictures. It is dynamic, multi media and more interactive. If you're looking to get a promo video for your website or to share online for instance, I would recommend to ask for a combination of these face to face speeches and dynamic presentations of your products or your team at work (if it is a service), the location of your business etc, while you will talking to your potential client over the video (audio only) or we add the right music for your business.
