Preview of a pin up shoot ...

Oh my ! it was steamy in the studio last friday ! Monica gave us her best angles while Elaine Cahill from www.elainesbeauty.ie worked her wonders to do a modern take on the classic 1950s pin up look.
I originally wanted the shoot to be very technical and driven by this beautiful classic lighting ( I was mostly influenced by Matthew Rolston who is a genius at lighting and who's known for that retro look like Aguilera's Candyman videoclip which is so so eye candy, regardless of whether you like the song...does anyone know whether they found 2 fab lookalikes for the brunette and the red head or was it her too ??) but Monica wouldn't have none of sitting still sort of session I intended so she kept me on my toes to follow her in action !! In the end I barely changed the light throughout the different set ups and I still got some lovely lighting !

More to come soon, if you behave :-D

Recent family pictures !

Everyone's different, every family has their own way to operate, to show their love. I love entering their world for an hour or so and try to get the essence of their love, their personality.
I played around with the grading on 2 of my recent shoots. For one I had a super large softbox and a couple of lights on the side. For the other one, an XL umbrella (absolutely beautiful), and a magnum dish on the front, as well as a honey comb at the back towards them.

Feel free to click on them to see the collages bigger.

Get your mojo back, dare a boudoir session !

I use the word "dare" with humour because, once you've seen how relaxed and informal the shoot is, you realise that it's really fun and silly before anything. I mean it can be very dramatic and seductive if you want it to but most of my boudoir sessions were just a good time, lots of laughs, bouncing ideas of poses and clothe combinations and then the surprise of seeing the jaw dropping result at the back of the camera !
Boudoir is all about seduction in an elegant and subtle way. It's saying something without really showing it.
We, women, know how to do that A LOT. And experiencing how seductive you can be without actually showing much flesh, that's pretty empowering ! And I'm not even talking about your partner's captivated eyes as he discovers the shots !
Every session is quite different, it's really about each model/ sitter's personality and how I react to it, which means every session is really unique in their nature, style, mood.

Fancy trying it for yourself ?
